Mary Ann (Jevsevar) Jarmulowicz

I began my nursing career at St. Francis Hospital, School of Nursing in New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1972. My first nursing position was at Grove City, Community hospital, on a 27 bed medical/surgical and 8 bed pediatric units. In 1974, at the age of 22, I joined the United States Navy and served my country for 22 years. I was stationed at Bethesda, Maryland; Pensacola, Florida; Catania, Sicily, Italy; Long Beach, California; Beaufort, South Carolina; Washington, DC; and Portsmouth, Virginia. During that time, I met and married a United States Marine, Wesley Jarmulowicz, in Yuma, Arizona, on November 13, 1978; delivered our son, Marc D. Jarmulowicz on October 20, 1983.  I completed my college education beginning at a Hospital School of Nursing where I received a Diploma as a Registered Nurse ending with a Masters Degree at Georgetown University.  I am currently taking courses toward a PhD in Education: Education Technology at Walden University.  I have had multiple nursing assignments in gerontological, medical/surgical, emergency, psychiatric, and pediatric nursing.

In January of 2003, I accepted a nursing instructor position at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. I enjoy teaching, but I especially like teaching using technology.  This tutorial was completed as a coursework assignment; but it is my hope you find it a learning tool to increase your proficiency to perform medical mathematics.

As my life continues to unfold, I know it will hold challenges. I don’t know how to live any differently.

My motto is “never a dull moment” which is a good reflection of my life.
